Policy Horizons Canada

Per their website:

“We are a federal government organization that conducts foresight. Our mandate is to help the Government of Canada develop future-oriented policy and programs that are more robust and resilient in the face of disruptive change on the horizon. To fulfill our mandate, we:

  • Analyze the emerging policy landscape, the challenges that lie ahead, and the opportunities opening up.
  • Engage in conversations with public servants and citizens about forward-looking research to inform their understanding and decision making.
  • Build foresight literacy and capacity across the public service.”

Their recent work1 includes a piece called Biodigital Convergence. The intro on the webpage states the following:

“Biological and digital systems are converging, and could change the way we work, live, and even evolve as a species. More than a technological change, this biodigital convergence may transform the way we understand ourselves and cause us to redefine what we consider human or natural.

Their Director General, Kristel Van der Elst, is a former Head of Strategic Foresight at the World Economic Forum (WEF). Anyone who doubts the integration of humans with implantable and/or nanotechnology, needs to read this article (and others).
